Vowels, Vowels, Vowels-What's so important about vowels?

Well,

Every word in the English language has either a vowel or a vowel sound.

Try it out.....

Please post below if you can find a word that does not have a vowel or a vowel sound.

Note: short vowels sounds are /a/, /e/, /i/, /o/, and /u/.

Long vowel sounds are /A/, /E/, /I/, /O/, and /U/.

Y takes the sound of /I/ as in fly, /E/ as in baby, and /i/ as in crystal.

R controlled vowels are ar as in stars, er as in verse, ir as in bird, or as in morning, and ur as in nurse.

There are several other vowel sound combinations like oo, ow, au, ea, oi, oy, but you get the idea.

Even words that appear to be using all consonant letters such as by, my, and sky.... the "y" is taking the sound of I.....which is a vowel.

I look forward to your posts.
